HandyPress® #2 Spur Grommet Die Set 3/8"

Install brass, nickel-plated brass and stainless steel #2 grommets smoothly, easily and quickly with the HandyPress® #2 Spur Grommet Die Set 3/8". This two-piece set includes one upper and one lower die. The Lower die holds the washer part of the grommet and rolls the end of the eyelet’s barrel. The Upper die applies even pressure to the eyelet, keeping it aligned for a perfect and secure installation. Each die is labeled "U" for upper and "L" for lower, making installation easy and straightforward.

Most die sets are made of soft metals that cannot handle setting stainless steel spur grommets, but that is not the case with the HandyPress #2 Spur Grommet Die Set. These dies are made from heat-treated alloy steel, allowing them to effectively work with stainless steel grommets without breaking or deforming. These are the highest quality grommet dies available exclusively from Sailrite.

To Use:

1. Cut a 7/16" hole (#3 cutter) in your material assembly. 
2. Install the upper die into the main vertical shaft's inner diameter and secure with the thumbscrew. 
3. Install the HandyPress lower adapter into the tool base and secure it with the thumbscrew. 
4. Set the tool for appropriate compression as directed in the HandyPress guidebook.
5. Place a #2 washer grommet on the lower die with its sharp teeth pointing up. Place the hole in your material over the washer.
6. Place the eyelet part of the grommet over the bulbous end of the lower die with the eyelet barrel down, capturing the fabric.
7. Holding your assembly in place with one hand, pull the handle down to complete the grommet installation

Please Note: This die set does not cut holes; holes must be cut before grommets can be installed. Hole punches are sold separately. This die set is only compatible with 3/8" rolled rim spur grommets. It was specifically designed for Stimpson and DOT® grommet brands.
